The University of California earned the No. 1 ranking in this week’s USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll. Mercyhurst College took the top spot in this week’s Division II poll, while Williams College continued to top the Division III poll.

California took over the top spot in the Division I rankings, earning 14 of 25 first-place votes. Yale University, previously ranked No. 1, received the other 11 first-place votes to rank second. Michigan State University moved up to No. 3, while Stanford University and the University of Michigan tied for the fourth spot in the poll.

Mercyhurst received four of six first-place votes to take over sole possession of the No. 1 ranking in the Division II poll. Western Washington University garnered two first-place votes to rank second, while Dowling College ranked third.

Williams College received eight of 10 first-place votes to remain on top of the Division III poll. Bates College ranked second, earning one first-place vote. Trinity College, Ithaca College and the University of Puget Sound rounded out the top five. Ithaca received the other first-place vote.
