Princeton University claimed the top spot in the preseason USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll, while Mercyhurst College and Smith College topped the Division II and Division III polls, respectively.

In Division I, Princeton earned 12 first-place votes to take the top position. Yale University received three first-place votes to take the second position, while Brown University earned seven first-place votes to rank third. Two Big Ten Conference schools, the University of Michigan and Ohio State University, rounded out the top five.

Defending national champions Mercyhurst College earned the top spot in the Division II poll. Mercyhurst received three first-place votes. Western Washington received one first-place vote to rank second, while Humboldt State University took the third position.

In the Division III poll, Smith College earned eight first-place votes to take the top spot in the poll. Trinity College ranked second, followed by Ithaca College, Williams College, and William Smith College. Ithaca College received one first-place vote.

The first regular season poll will be released on March 30. The USRowing men’s collegiate poll, which is not affiliated with the CRCA, is also scheduled to be released on March 30.
