University of Washington, University of Central Oklahoma and Bates College earned the top spots in this season’s second USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Division I, II and III Polls, presented by Pocock Racing Shells.
Following a sweep of Washington State in the Apple Cup, the Huskies continued to lead the way in this week’s Division I poll, earning 20 first-place votes. University of California at Berkeley picked up the other five first-place votes to once again rank second. The Golden Bears won all 12 of their races at the Pac-12 Challenge this past weekend. University of Texas and Princeton University remained in the third and fourth positions, respectively, while The Ohio State University moved into fifth position.
Coming off a sweep of the Central Sprints, University of Central Oklahoma jumped into the top spot in this week’s Division II poll, earning four first-place votes. University of California at San Diego ranked second, followed by Florida Institute of Technology. Last week’s No. 1, Western Washington University, dropped into fourth position, while receiving the other first-place vote. Barry University rounded out the top five.
Bates College remained the unanimous top choice in this week’s Division III poll, earning all 10 first-place votes. Bates accumulated an 8-2 mark this weekend against Simmons College and lightweight crews from Radcliffe, MIT and Georgetown. Wesleyan University ranked second, followed by Williams College, Ithaca College and Hamilton College.
