Duquesne University has a GA opening for the fall of 2021.  Please see below or attached and let your current seniors know.

The graduate assistant will work for the rowing program approximately 25 hours per week for the fall 2021 through summer 2023 rowing seasons.  This role will be a two-year appointment while the student-coach completes their graduate degree.

Description: Coaching, while attending graduate school.  On a day to day basis this individual will primarily coach and develop 3rd varsity eight and novice student-athletes.  They will be required to maintain office hours throughout the week and attend all pertinent meetings.

Qualifications: 4 years of rowing at the collegiate level. Academic credentials necessary for successful acceptance into chosen graduate level program. Driver’s license along with demonstrated safe drivers record.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Driving a van for morning and afternoon practices to and from our off-campus boathouse training site
  2. Preparing and organizing equipment for team practices
  3. Assisting in on-the-water coaching
  4. Assisting coaches with recruiting efforts – to include planning and executing official visits, correspondence to PSAs, and maintaining recruiting files
  5. Assisting with equipment upkeep and maintenance
  6. Other duties as assigned by coaches
